Biography
Beckie Lang is the Health and Research Manager at Tommy’s the baby charity, which funds research to save babies lives. A public health nutritionist by background, Beckie uses her previous academic research and corporate communication skills to support healthy pregnancies through the management of projects which aim to empower and enable positive behaviour change to support healthier pregnancies. Beckie represents Tommy’s on the Smoking in Pregnancy Challenge group and has been integral to the communications team. Beckie manages the DH funded Baby Be Smoke Free project at Tommy’s, an assets-based approach to supporting a tobacco free pregnancy in young women.
Hilary Wareing is the Director of the TCCC. She was involved with implementing smokefree legislation in England and was a lead in the implementation within mental health settings. She is currently involved in reducing the prevalence of smoking in pregnancy, promoting smokefree homes, and supporting local authorities to review the commissioning of services to reduce prevalence and help people to quit.
Hilary is part of the CLeaR training team and is a Core Assessor. She is a member of the Smoking in Pregnancy Challenge and Smoking in Pregnancy Communications Groups and is a topic expert adviser with NICE Quality Standards.
