Biography
Linda Bauld is Professor of Health Policy at the University of Stirling, Director of the Institute for Social Marketing and Deputy Director of the UK Centre for Tobacco and Alcohol Studies. She also serves as CRUK's cancer prevention champion (the CRUK/BUPA Chair in Behavioural Research for Cancer Prevention), a role that began in August 2014.
Linda has a background in applied policy research and her research focuses on the evaluation of public health interventions.
She has conducted studies on drug and alcohol use, inequalities in health and, most notably, on tobacco control and smoking cessation. She is a former scientific adviser on tobacco control to the UK government and led the development of an independent alcohol strategy for the UK, Health First, which was published in March 2013.
