Biography
Heather currently works for Leeds City Council as a Senior Public Health Manager, particularly within tobacco control and behaviour change, areas of work she has specialised in since 1999. She has previously been an associate director with the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training and a programme director of the UK National Smoking Cessation Conference. In addition she has sat on several guidance development committees including the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and for the Department of Health. Heather has more recently become involved in providing a public health input to transport and active travel schemes.
Kamran Siddiqi has a medical background with further training in chest diseases and public health and has carried out research in the UK, Latin America and South Asia in the area of lung health. He uses quantitative research methods to evaluate public health interventions and is particularly interested in research to help control tobacco use in south Asia.
