Biography
Dave Jones is one of the tobacco control managers at Public Health England. He is s a qualified nurse, working in surgery before moving to delivery and management of stop smoking services. In 2012 he joined the Department of Health as clinical adviser for stop smoking services, before transferring to the PHE tobacco team in 2013. Dave's portfolio covers prisons, mental health and more recently aspects of the European Tobacco Products Directive.
Linda Hennigan is the Head of Business Development for Public Sector Prisons working for the National Offender Management Service. She is the deputy SRO of the Smoke Free Prisons Project. Educated at Lancashire University she graduated in 1988 to take up a post as a probation officer in London. Linda worked for the service for 26 years and her last post was as the Chief Executive of Bedfordshire Probation Trust. In this capacity she chaired the Local Criminal Justice Board and the Community Safety Partnership in Luton. In her current role she supports the work of the Director of Public Sector Prisons managing a range of projects and new initiatives. Linda has a particular interest in research and evidence based practice and obtained her Mst in Penology at Cambridge University in 2013.
Chris Kelly currently holds the post of Assistant Head of Health and Justice for NHS England National Team, a post she has held since 1st April 2013. Her long career in the National Probation Service has seen her move from management through commissioning, to work with the Home Office and leading a nationally acclaimed programme. During her tenure Chris also worked with UCL on work to develop BME access to DIP services by training and supporting service users.
As well as managing the Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) in Nottinghamshire Chris was also a Deputy Director of a provider organisation delivering substance misuse services in both community and custodial settings. In 2011 Chris led the DAAT in Worcestershire and left there when she took up her position with NHS England.
