Abstract
Many Stop Smoking Services are transitioning through TUPE and transfer processes from NHS providers to 'new' 'private' and non NHS Trust organisations.
East Sussex Stop Smoking Service transitioned from East Sussex Healthcare Trust (ESHT) to North 51 in April 2014. The service covers 3 CCG areas and has had a stable combined service target in the mid 3000s (4 week quits) for several years. For at least 2 years prior to the tender process, the service had 'failed' to hit target (in 2013/14, the service submitted 56% of target at end of year).
This presentation will describe the process of TUPE and the findings of a qualitative study of the staff perspective before, during and one year following the transfer of the service.
