Paul Burstow Former Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Smoking and Health
Biography
Paul Burstow has a wide range of experience of government and public service. He served as Minister for Care and Support in the Coalition Government where he was responsible for an extensive brief which included writing the Care and Support White Paper, drafting the Care Act and devising a new Mental Health. He was also responsible for the return of public health to local government and the creation of health and wellbeing boards.
On leaving the government in 2012 he was elected as chair of the all party parliamentary group on smoking and health where he worked cross party to secure the key votes on standardised packaging and smoking in cars.
Paul left Parliament at the General Election and is now undertaking a number of non-executive, advisory and public policy projects.
