Biography
Deirdre O’Brien has a BA in Economics and an MSc in Health Economics and Health Policy. She is currently a Research Fellow in the University of Birmingham, funded to conduct health economic and cost-effectiveness analysis on intervention for treating of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Other research interests include health policy, with a particular interest in choice and competition in healthcare markets.
Prior joining the University she held commercial and research positions within the healthcare sector. This included one year as a consultant researcher where she completed a six month secondment to Monitor, the health sector regulator in England.
