Abstract
Outline the provision of a mobile service and venue to support smoking cessation across the 10 Greater Manchester boroughs, commissioned by Greater Manchester Public Health Network. This is the results of a one year pilot providing additional smoking cessation services in areas of deprivation and with hig BME, and routine and manual groups.
The outcomes expected include 8 X 4 week quits; quit rate of 35%; development and integration of care pathways for referrals on to local services; improved client satisfaction of service accessibility and delivery; improved access and choice for people wishing to stop smoking. To help achieve these outcomes client evaluations have been completed; service delivery observations made and changes in delivery implemented; leanring as we deliver and changes made to service provision depending on local area need and local stop smoking services. The delivery is supported by operational and strategic groups involved in planning next steps.
Developments over the year have included delivery of CVD screening (NHS Health Checks) and cancer chancer interventions, demonstrating how these 3 areas of work can be delivered successfully from one mobile venue, accessing clients who would not normally attend services within their general practice clinics.
