Biography
Melanie McIlvar has worked in the field of smoking cessation since 2006, initially as a stop smoking specialist with responsibility for developing workplace based stop smoking support across Northamptonshire. Subsequent roles in the field have included Reducing Health Inequality Coordinator (smoking cessation) and Training Lead for Leicestershire County & Rutland. Melanie has also worked within the Tobacco Policy Team at the English Department of Health (DH) as a Tobacco Control Delivery Manager before joining the NCSCT Community Interest Company (NCSCT) as the Senior Delivery Manager and more recently NCSCT Director.
Darcy Brown, is a psychologist by background in cognitive processing/optometry research, who has worked to an international level. Having set up stop smoking services in Darlington in 2000, Darcy has extensive experience in delivery and is now a full time manager of services, including specific responsibilities for Secondary Care, Pregnancy, Quit Manager and Medicines Management. Darcy has represented on national advisor panels and previously contributed to the DH national guidance for Stop Smoking Services.
