Abstract
The NHS Smokefree services teamed up with the Renfrewshire CHP tobacco alliance in order to run 40 local events for no smoking day 2010. The Renfrewshire tobacco alliance consists of numerous partners including; members of the public, Fire Brigade, Police, Trading standards, Health improvement staff from local council and NHS, young people, schools, nurseries, and the local college and university. The Renfrewshire Tobacco alliance had created their own logo and identity and had received funding to purchase personalised resources to be distributed along with smoking cessation service information on national no smoking day. A joint planning day was held and the outcome was that 40 local joint events were organised and carried out between the alliance members and the smoking cessation services in Renfrewshire on National No smoking day 2010. From these 40 events that were created from partnership working, the smoking cessation services received over 200 referrals.
