Abstract “Innovative Smoking Prevention Programmes for Young People” will explain the diverse range of UK programmes QUIT provides. It will include information on QUIT’s interactive School Presentations as well as QUIT’s Peer to Peer led services in schools, youth clubs and youth community settings. The presentation will also inform on the charity’s approach when developing innovative services for young people including how QUIT’s services are based on the latest evidence of what prevents young people from starting smoke. It will also discuss the outcomes of QUIT’s most recent evaluations.
Biographies:
Zanya Sesay is an expert in youth work and youth smoking cessation and prevention programmes. Zanya has over 10 years’ experience working with young people in a wide range of settings and she specialises in developing engaging programmes that inspire and motivate young people. Zanya is also establishing a new Smoking Prevention Peer Mentoring programme for schools. Recently she has re –designed the Quit Because School Presentations to compliment the latest evidence in Youth Smoking Prevention.
