Exploring the evidence - Cochrane reviews on smoking cessation
Lindsay Stead
Abstract
This workshop will provide a brief overview of the Cochrane Collaboration and the methods that the Tobacco Addiction Group uses for preparing systematic reviews. We will provide a practical demonstration of the Cochrane Library and an overview of the main findings from reviews of cessation interventions. We will discuss the practical implications of the evidence about effective interventions from reviews, and highlight both the strengths and limitations of evidence from randomised trials. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about the findings of reviews and make suggestions about the their future development and improvement.
